India was ranked at the 34th position globally in Jones Lang LaSalle’s biennial Global Real Estate Transparency Index (GRETI). The higher ranking is because India’s real estate industry has registered one of the largest improvements regionally and globally in the index.

2.(d) Twitter
Indian Army has banned 89 mobile applications including Facebook, Instagram, PUBG, Zoom, POPXO, Tik Tok, Snapchat, ShareIt and dating apps like Tinder and Bumble. The decision has been taken to curtail leakage of information, as per Indian Army sources.

3.(a)July 15th 
The 15th India-EU summit will be held through video conference on July 15, 2020. During the summit, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold detailed talks with European Council President Charles Michel and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on a wide range of issues.

4.(b) Karnataka
Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa launched Weavers Sammaan Yojana on July 6, 2020. Under the scheme, the state government will provide annual financial assistance worth Rs 2000 to around 19,744 handloom weavers in the state through Direct Benefit Transfer.

5.(d) China
A city in Northern China sounded an alert on July 5 after it found a suspected case of bubonic plague. Following the report, Bayannur, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, announced a level III warning of plague prevention and control.

Indian Skipper Virat Kohli has come under the ‘conflict of interest’ scanner in relation to two of his companies- Virat Kohli Sports LLP company and Cornerstone Venture Partners LLP. Sanjeev Gupta has raised a question on Kohli’s involvement in the two companies calling it a violation of BCCI’s Constitution.

An investigation launched to probe match-fixing allegations during the 2011 World Cup final has been dropped due to lack of evidence. The investigation was suspended insufficient evidence and public outcry. 

8.(a) WHO
The World Health Organization (WHO) on July 7, 2020 acknowledged "evidence emerging" of the airborne spread of the novel coronavirus. The global body made the acknowledgement after a group of scientists urged it to update its guidance on how the respiratory disease spreads between people.

9.(a) UAE
The United Arab Emirates has decided to send a probe to Mars, in a first for the Arab world. The UAE’s Mars probe aims to provide a comprehensive image of the weather dynamics in Mars' atmosphere and pave the way for scientific breakthroughs.

10. (b)2016
Ennio Morricone, Oscar-winning Italian film composer, passed away on July 6, 2020. He was 91. In 2007, he received the honorary Academy Award for his magnificent contributions to the art of film music. He received his first competitive Oscar in 2016 for Quentin Tarantino's film The Hateful Eight, becoming the oldest person ever to win a competitive Oscar award.
